David A. Vose, obituary
UNION — David A Vose, 69, husband of Pamela (Winslow) Vose, died peacefully, yet unexpectedly at home, Friday, February 3, 2023.
He attended schools in South Portland and later attended and graduated from Oklahoma Farrier School where he became certified as a blacksmith and farrier.
His passion was the Morgan horse. He and his wife raised Morgans with the registered prefix Justanotha which resulted in special friends who became family. He was never happier than when he was in the barn either with his own horses or with clients, and took particular joy in watching the young people he knew progress and grow in their skills and in life. He was always there to offer encouragement. He was active in the Maine Morgan Horse Club and Maine Horse Association for many years and through these connections he was blessed with lifelong friends, too numerous to count.
He was also an accomplished drummer and had a keen interest in antiques.
David was predeceased by his mother, Stella E. (Lear) Lajoie, and father, Allen M. Vose I, as well as sons, Christopher D. Vose and Joshua L. Vose.
He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Pamela Vose; brothers, Lawrence T. Vose and his wife Anita of Wells, Allen M Vose, II of South Portland; as well as nephews Allen M Vose, III and his wife Heather of Cape Coral, Florida and their son Douglas, Jon Lawrence Vose of Wells and his daughter Cherish; and niece Jaymi Merrill and her husband Richard of Wells and their daughters, Tessa and Hailey.
Memorial donations may be sent to the Maine Morgan Horse Club c/o Sue Oliver 364 Old Stage Rd., Woolwich, ME 04579
