Kevin Alden Dow, obituary
ROCKPORT — Kevin Alden Dow, 68, passed away on December 30, 2022, at Pen Bay Medical Center in Rockport, following a cardiac event. Born in Camden on April 3, 1954, he was the son of Alden and Gerry (Page) Dow, and was educated in local schools.
His employment included the Knox Woolen Mill in Camden, before working at several Friendly’s Restaurants as a server in Maine. On October 1, 1989, Kevin married the love of his life, Joyce Sproul. Kevin enjoyed playing the guitar and listening to country music. In the 1970’s, he traveled to Bangor with his guitar, appearing on Dick Stacy’s Country Western Jamboree which aired on local television stations. He was an avid reader and enjoyed writing short stories. In recent years, Kevin and Joyce resided at Merry Gardens in Camden where they had many friends, and attended the Cornerstone Baptist Church in Camden.
He was predeceased by his parents, Alden and Gerry Dow, and a sister, Lorraine Dow Robinson.
Surviving is his wife of 33 years, Joyce Dow of Belfast; a brother, Dennis Dow and his wife, Ann, of Palm Harbor, Florida; brother Steve Bowman and his wife, Andrea, of Hope; many nieces and nephews.
A private celebration of life for Kevin will be held at Tall Pines in Belfast.
