Korena Widdecombe Morse, obituary
WARREN — Korena Widdecombe Morse, 60, went home to be with the Lord on December 24, 2022, passing peacefully at her home.
Korena was a very giving person and would often go without to ensure others had what they needed. An avid animal lover, her last pup, Jack, was her love and companion.
Attending school in Thomaston, graduating from Georges Valley High School in 1980.
Korena was a Certified Nurses Assistant, a dog groomer, and jeweler, always eager to learn new things.
Korena was a natural people person. She worked for the department of human services. She took great pleasure in working as a CNA, taking care of elderly people. In her later years, she worked at KFC until closing and went to work at Pizza Hut with her KFC crew whom she loved working with.
She was proud of her grandchildren and would tell anyone that would listen.
In her spare time, she enjoyed talking to her many friends over coffee, painting, making jewelry, genealogy, and most important to her were her grandchildren.
Predeceased by her husband, Wesley ”Bub” Morse (whom she met at 14 years old); her mother, Sandra Wiley; her biological father, Clarence Widdecombe; her adopted father, Elson Johnson; and her brother Wayne Johnson.
She is survived by her daughters Candi Johnson and husband Chad, and their children Della, Sarah, and Mary of Thomaston; Carrie Searle and husband Blain, and their children Wyatt, Sebastian, and Piper of Waldoboro; brother, Scott and his wife Andrea of Machias; a brother-in-law, William “Bill” Morse, who was a huge help after her husband's passing; as well as several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
As per Korena’s request, no funeral services will be held. A Celebration of Korena’s life will be held on Sunday, January 22, from 2 to 4 p.m., at Thomaston Legion Hall, located at 10 Watts Ave in Thomaston.
