Rockland Public Library hours of operation to change
In response to some inquiries, and to serve those in the community whose needs are not met by the current schedule, starting on March 1, the Rockland Public Library will adjust its hours to include Tuesday and Thursday evenings till 5:30 p.m.
The new hours will be Monday, Wednesday, Friday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Tuesday and Thursday, 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.; and Saturdays, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
The Library building, which is open to the public, is limited to 15 people at a time. This includes patrons of all ages. Masks are required. For those who cannot wear a mask, the Library will provide a reusable face shield. Patrons are asked to keep their visit to 30 minutes per day and there are a very limited amount of public computers, the time limit for which is also 30 minutes. Computer/copier assistance is limited to what can be provided from 6 feet away. Returns continue to be accepted in outside bins only.
For those who want no-contact service, curbside pickup continues Monday - Friday, 10 am - 4:30 p.m.; and Saturday, 10 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.
In lieu of in-person programming, all Thursday evening programs are live via Zoom, which are then uploaded to the Rockland Public Library-Maine YouTube Channel and shared via Facebook. All Children's storytimes are also on YouTube.
