Rockport library receives $15,000 donation
ROCKPORT —The Bangor Savings Bank Foundation recently awarded a $15,000 grant to the Rockport Library Foundation (RLF) in support of the construction of Rockport’s new library.
In recognition of the grant, Bangor Savings Bank Foundation Chair Joyce Clark Sarnacki said, in a Bank news release, “We truly appreciated the opportunity to support the Rockport Public Library campaign. Libraries will always be an integral part of our communities and are an investment in our future, contributing to our quality of life by both capturing the past and positively impacting the present in countless ways.”
RLF Vice President John Viehman added, “This generous donation from the Bangor Savings Bank Foundation brings us across the finish line of reaching our fundraising goal. With this donation, we have now surpassed $2.25 million and fulfilled our promise to the Town. To say that we’re delighted with the support we’ve been receiving from the community is an understatement. Hundreds of individual donors and business leaders like those at Bangor Savings Bank have truly stepped up and we’re both humbled and extremely grateful for their support.”
