SKOWHEGAN — The Oceanside and Mount View high school wrestling programs traveled Saturday, Jan. 11 to Skowhegan to participate in the annual Skowhegan Invitational. 

Oceanside finished in 11th place with 60 points while Mount View finished 13th with 39 points. 

Mount View also entered a few competitors as part of a “B” squad that finished 27th with 6.5 points. 

Placing for Oceanside were Matt Spear (second), Carter Fogarty (third) and Bennet Penney (fourth)

Placing for Mount View were Mark Ward (first) and Zackary Ward (fourth).

126 pounds: Morgan Fonger (Mount View) pinned by Calvin Peck (Nokomis) and pinned by Rachel Tuck (Skowhegan). 

132 pounds: Seth Spear (Oceanside) lost by technical pin against Tyler Preble (Nokomis) and lost by majority decision against Robert Davies (Skowhegan). 

138 pounds: Emma Fonger (Mount View) pinned by Spencer LeClair (Mount Ararat) and lost by majority decision against Kaleb Thompson (Mount Ararat “B”). 

145 pounds: Zackary Ward (Mount View) pinned Max Ginn (Washington Academy), lost to Landon St. Peter (John Bapst), pinned Zach Shaw (Bonny Eagle), pinned Everett Huckins (Ellsworth), defeated Mason Rowe (Mount Blue) and lost by forfeit to Landon St. Peter (John Bapst).
