Rockland announces Fiscal Year 2020 mil rate
ROCKLAND — Tuesday, Aug. 13 is Tax Day.
During the Monday, Aug. 12, Rockland City Council meeting, City Manager Tom Luttrell announced the expected mil rate for the 2020 Fiscal Year.
Previously, after months of springtime deliberation, the City acknowledged that the new rate would be in the $25 range, according to Luttrell.
As of Monday night, the new rate is expected at $24.76 per mil. However, Luttrell reasoned that the rate could change again by Tuesday morning.
Breaking down that numbers, 40% is from the City, 56% is from the school district, and 4% is from the county.
The average homeowner will see a $310 increase in their tax bill. $17 of that is from the City, $290 is from the school, $3 is from the county.
