Week-long animation workshop offered in Appleton
APPLETON — Appleton Library will host a week-long Animation Workshop with Deb Vendetti during the week of July 15 for students aged 8+.
Funded by a generous grant from the Maine State Library, this is a free workshop with a $25 refundable registration fee. Preference will be given to Appleton residents and surrounding areas.

Prior animation experience is not required. Learn how to create animated movies using your iOS device. An introduction to the user-friendly software and the basic concepts for animating cut paper characters, creating motion and making characters speak. We will also explore the basic concepts for creating line animation, object pixelation and claymation.
Workshop Structure
Participants will come together as a group to decide on the scope and content of the project. Students may work on one animation as a team, or opt to work with a partner or in smaller independent groups and on separate projects.
This project brainstorming session will happen after the initial demo of how the software works and what is possible within the bounds of our equipment, materials, student skills, student goals, and project timeframe.
About the instructor:
Deb Vendetti is the librarian at the Appleton Village School and part of a teaching team for the early language readiness program. She holds a BFA in painting and drawing; graduate studies in photography.
