Waterfall Arts accepting work for annual open call exhibition
BELFAST — Waterfall Arts' annual Open Call exhibition will again take over its Clifford and Corridor Galleries this spring! OCEANS will be on view from April 6 to May 11. Work for the OCEANS Open Call exhibition must be submitted between March 27 and March 30. This is a non-juried open call. Worked may be dropped off during office hours, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Artists of all ages and disciplines are encouraged to bring one work in any medium, in two or three dimensions, overall size not to exceed 60 inches by 60 inches. Work must be properly framed for hanging or placement in a gallery setting and may be for sale.
OCEANS reflects the overarching theme of exhibitions at Waterfall Arts this year. While the sea is a constant in our lives on the Maine coast, it has many facets, some known and much still a mystery. Sea life, marine adaptations, salt, coastal weather, the fishing industry, and climate change harbingers are just a few of the lenses scientists, artists, makers, and coastal denizens use to learn from our oceans. For the open call exhibition, artists near and far are invited to by explore what is important or meaningful to them about the ocean we know so well and yet still consider full of the unknown.
OCEANS will open on Friday, April 6 with a reception from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Waterfall Arts is located at 256 High Street in downtown Belfast. For more information, visit www.waterfallarts.org or call (207) 338-2222.
