Waldoboro installation of high-speed fiber optic cable expands
WALDOBORO — The bucket trucks in Waldoboro Village are installing high speed fiber optic cable. Lincolnville Communications, Inc. (LCI), a sister company to Tidewater Telecom, the provider, will meet with the Waldoboro Business Association April 27, at 6 p.m., at 9 Friendship St. to speak about the level and types of fiber broadband services LCI will make available. The Waldoboro Town office is already installed fiber broadband service.
To learn more about the high-speed broadband service, plan to attend the WBA meeting and/or download LCI's information at the Waldoboro Business Association website. LCI is also interested in receiving suggestions from the community for installing fiber along other Waldoboro Village side streets. LCI will need those suggestions to determine if there are sufficient numbers of potential customers to justify investing in further expansion.
Installation of fiber broadband in the village is of major significance for Waldoboro's future commercial and residential growth, according to the Waldoboro Business Association The WBA hopes this is just the beginning and that fiber broadband will then expand to other areas of Waldoboro, according to a news release.
