At wildlife rehabilitator, getting electrolytes
UPDATE Fawn crying for its mother in Lincolnville off to a better start
LINCOLNVILLE — The fawn that was in back of Norm Walters' house on Belfast Road, in Lincolnville, calling for its mother for more than 24 hours is now being cared for, courtesy of a wildlife rehabilitator.
“Norm took the fawn to a wildlife rehabilitator that he heard of thanks to all the suggestions yesterday,” said Diane O’Brien, this morning. “There are three other fawns there [at the rehabilitator’s] -- two little does and a buck. Norm's is a doe, and less than a week old since the umbilical cord was still visible. She was quite dehydrated and will be fed electrolytes to ‘jump start’ her, the guy said. We'll keep everyone posted.”
