Time announced for Belfast’s field hockey regional championship game
BELFAST — The Maine Principals Association, the state’s high school athletics governing body, has released the times for this year’s regional field hockey championships.
The second-seeded Belfast varsity squad will battle top-seeded Winslow at Hampden Academy on Wednesday, Oct. 30 at 3 p.m. for the Class B North regional crown.
Belfast and Winslow recently met in Belfast for a regular season finale Wednesday, Oct. 16 with the host Lions earning a 3-2 victory.
The winner of the Winslow and Belfast contest will face the winner of the Class B Southern regional title match in the state championship.
The southern championship will be played Oct. 30 at Sanford High School between top-seeded York and third-seeded Fryeburg.
The state championship game will be played Saturday, Nov. 2 at Messalonskee High School. The time for the contest has not been announced.
