PAWA Auction for the Animals, featuring a live and silent auction, appetizers and a cash bar, will be held  Thursday, December 1, 5:30 to 8 p.m. at the  Samoset Resort in Rockport.

This is PAWS major fundraiser of the year to support the animals who are waiting for their forever homes at PAWS.

The holiday-themed night will offer items donated by national, state and local businesses. The silent auction begins when the doors open at 5:30 p.m., followed by the live auction run by Bruce Gamage of Gamage Antiques, in Rockland. Auction items run the gamut from vacations, art work, jewelry, books, clothing, gift certificates for restaurant and stores throughout the Midcoast to a variety of items for pets. 

Appetizers and a cash bar will be available throughout the evening. The proceeds from tickets, which cost $25, and all winning bids will go directly to support P.A.W.S. operations.

Penny’s Story will be shared during the live auction: Penny was a sick and homeless puppy brought to P.A.W.S. and nursed back to health by the staff, volunteers, her foster family and three veterinarians: Penny’s heroes! There’s a rumor that Penny might even stop by to meet everyone.

The mission of P.A.W.S. Animal Adoption Center, at 123 John Street in Camden, is to provide a safe, caring environment for homeless and abandoned dogs and cats until they can be placed with loving families, and to promote humane values in communities.
