Searsport postpones graduation amid weather concerns
SEARSPORT — Due the forecast of heavy rain and thunderstorms for Thursday, June 11, the processional and drive-in graduation for Searsport District High School has been postponed.
Each student were filmed earlier this month marching into Pomp and Circumstance, as well as filmed receiving their diploma with the superintendent, principal, and advisor on stage spaced apart.
Each senior’s footage will be pieced together into one movie that will be played at the graduation ceremony.
Each senior may have up to 10 tickets for family to watch and have pictures taken in a separate room. All parties are to wear masks.
The events will now be held Monday, June 15 with the processional beginning at 7:30 p.m. on Sears Island and the drive-in graduation at the high school at 9 p.m. at the high school.
