School charity drive in Camden turns into community event for local foster children

CAMDEN — What started as a school charity drive turned into a full community event with many dropping off backpacks to the school in the days leading up to Christmas.
Seaside Village Preschool, in Camden, has just finished a backpack drive where they collected backpacks for local foster children.
All backpacks and items in the backpacks were brand new with tags.
Angel Staples from OCFS came and collected the backpacks on Monday, January 3, 2022.
The pajamas collected were sizes 2T-16.
The grand total is as follows:
- 75 backpacks
- 78 sets of pajamas
- 125 pairs of underwear
- 129 pairs of socks
- 75 toothbrushes
- 75 tubes of toothpaste
- 10 books
- 2 puzzles
- 24 winter hats
- 16 pairs of winter gloves
- 3 blankets
- 4 stuffed animals
- 2 toys
- 3 adult shirts
