Paula Dougherty exhibiting in Belfast at the co-op
BELFAST — Each month, the Belfast Co-op invites area artists to show their work in their café. Belfast Co-op is pleased to announce its July artist of the month, Paula Dougherty.
Dougherty is a long-time resident of Maine who was born and educated in New Jersey and New York City art schools. The artist has extensive training in the fine arts including drawing, painting and more specifically, portraiture.
Dougherty exhibits, teaches and works by commission. Her artwork can be seen locally at Sail Locker in Belfast, Northport Landing Gallery in Northport, Blue Jacket in Searsport and at Star Bird gallery in Camden.
Upcoming shows include Paint The Peninsula auction sponsored by The Blue Hill Library, on Saturday, July 16, and Penobscot East Resource Center's 7th Annual Lobster Buoy Auction on Monday, Aug. 1, at The Opera House in Stonington.
In June, Dougherty collaborated on Jellyfish with a student from a local school as part of the new mural project, Fantastic Sea Creatures, depicted on the wall of Belfast's Family Dollar Store on High Street.
