Nichole (Nikki) Marie Cayton, obituary
Nichole (Nikki) Marie Cayton, left this world unexpectedly on December 1, 2022. Nikki was only 34 years young. Our family has suffered a great loss and the world is a bit darker without her bright smile.
Born in Rockport on February 3, 1988 to Lee Cayton and Julie Rawley, Nikki was raised in Rockland, Maine, and attended local Rockland schools.
Once out of school Nikki could be found traveling and meeting the father of her daughter. She gave birth to her only child, London Lewis, in Georgia.
Nikki would move back to Maine and work as a caregiver for her mother. Nikki enjoyed traveling, spending time with family and friends, living life to the fullest and raising her daughter London. You could always find her listening to music and dancing like no one was watching.
Nikki loved making new friends and memories and was always there for anyone who needed a shoulder to cry on or just a listening ear. Nikki’s greatest joy and accomplishment is her daughter. Nichole was an amazing mother, daughter, sister, niece, cousin, and friend. Her memory will live on in our hearts and through her daughter.
Nikki was predeceased by her paternal grandfather, Elmer Cayton and grandmother Virginia Young; her maternal grandfather, Ivan Rawley, and grandmother Sharon Rawley; and her uncle Wayne Young.
She is survived by her father, Lee Cayton, and his companion Kerrie Adams, of Lewiston; her mother, Julie Hanscom, and her husband Steve Hanscom of Otisfield; her daughter, London Lewis of Lewiston; brother Chuck Rawley, of Otisfield, and sister-in-law Gloria Beverage; Aunt Dianne Cayton and her partner Douglas Poland; cousins Corey Cayton, Joseph Cayton, Janelle Poland, Jasmine Poland, Isabelle Mahoney; and her best friend, Ashley H.; plus many more aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
A celebration of life will be determined for a later date which will be posted to her Facebook.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the GoFundMe account https://gofund.me/2565a8ec, which will go towards ceremony expenses as well as funds to go towards her daughter, London, for anything she will need.
Nikki is greatly missed by all of us and so many others and her memory will never be forgotten.
Funeral Alternatives assisted the family.
