MidCoast Interact Club awarded Rotary International Presidential Citation
For the sixth consecutive year, the MidCoast Interact Club was awarded the Rotary International Presidential Citation for making a positive difference in their school and community. In order to be eligible to receive this prestigious recognition the Interact club was required to have an active status with Rotary International and must have initiated or participated in at least five international and community service activities throughout the 2015-2016 school year.
Some of the Interact club’s notable achievements this year included helping Camden and West Bay Rotary at their community events during Windjammer Weekend, promoting a Week of Kindness, participating in the annual Rotary Walk to End Polio, volunteering with Coastal Mountains Land Trust doing trail work at Beech Hill, volunteering with West Bay Rotary on a house painting project for Habitat for Humanity, participating in the Christmas by the Sea Parade, Winter and Spring guest chefs at the Ronald McDonald House in Portland, and traveling to Guatemala in February to work with the children and families at Safe Passage. These amazing Interact club members have had a very full and worthwhile year.
The MidCoast Interact Club is a nonprofit, nonpolitical community-based service club and is cosponsored by West Bay Rotary and Camden Rotary. The club meets during the school year every Wednesday at 2:20 pm, in the Library at Camden Hills Regional High School. All interested, mid-coast high school students are invited to join.
