Upon graduating from Camden High School in 1946, she became the second production person hired at Tibbetts Industries, and worked there for seven years.

At home in the USA, they also enjoyed traveling around Maine and visited Arizona, California (San Francisco area), Colorado (Grand Canyon area), Florida, and Texas.
Her summer pastimes included boating on Penobscot Bay, staying at their camp on Norton’s Pond, and visiting Spruce Head. Many a mile they toured around the state on their motorcycle. In her younger years, she spent evenings out dancing, attending concerts and plays and taking in museums. At the age of 40, she learned to drive and obtained her license; one of her favorite vehicles was her convertible. She was a member of the Camden Area Senior Citizens club from its conception. In recent years, she enjoyed watching travel and game shows, reading about the American judicial system, and expanding her experiences through the adventures of her family.
