Linda Jewell, obituary
BELFAST — Linda Jewell, 82, passed away October 8, 2022 in Belfast. Linda was born in a small New Hampshire town in 1940.
She obtained her nursing degree from New England Deaconess Hospital, in Boston, and was valedictorian of her class. During this time she had met John. They married, lived in the Boston area for a few years and eventually settled in Belfast, Maine.
She was an amazing mother, always supporting her children's schedules with whichever activity they participated in. Linda had many interests with family coming first. She loved seeing the ocean, gardening, sewing/knitting, reading and puzzles. Wherever Linda focused her time and effort, she was highly successful.
Over 20 years ago Linda decided to start a new hobby and joined a painting group. It quickly became her passion. She became an accomplished watercolor artist and her art has been enjoyed by many across the country.
Linda and John loved taking day trips in search of new places, amazing views, leaf peeping in the fall and sometimes just to find the best lobster rolls. She always kept an eye for what might make a good painting scene.
Linda is survived by her husband of 61 years, John; her three children and their spouses: Greg (Susan), Marsha (Jeff), and Kevin (Lisa); seven grandchildren, one great granddaughter; her sister, Shirley, and her brother, Robert.
She was grateful to spend the past month with her family to reminisce.
