Kelley J. Smith, obituary
ROCKLAND — Kelley J. Smith, 58, passed away peacefully on October 4, 2021 at her home with her family close by her side.
Born December 24, 1962 in Camden to Arthur Marriner, Sr. and Nancy Norton, Kelley was one of four children and the only girl of the bunch. She grew up in the Midcoast area while attending schools in Rockland. In 1995 while working at Nautica she met the love of her life Walter Smith. After forming a close friendship with Walter, the two were married on August 26, 2000.
Throughout her career Kelley worked at many restaurants and retail stores in the Rockland area. She was a hardworking and dedicated woman who wanted to make a difference in every place that she worked. She was most proud of her accomplishments while in management at Burger King, where she worked for many years. Kelley also helped manage McDonalds, JC Penney, Nautica and Maritime Farms to name a few.
Kelley loved more than anything being a mother, a grandmother and a great-grandmother. She loved to cook for everybody during the holiday seasons and most of all enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. Kelley and Walter were fond of going to watch softball games and attending harness racing together. She cared deeply for animals and spent a lot of time at the animal shelter, visiting and helping in any way that she could. Kelley had a very special bond with one of her dogs, Maggie, who passed away just a few short months ago.
Predeceased by her father, Arthur Marriner, Sr; Kelley is survived by her loving husband, Walter Smith; her mother, Nancy Hamilton and husband David; her two daughters, Tiffany Kingsbury and partner Adam Turner and their child Aubrie Turner of Washburn, daughter Sherrie Losier and her daughters, Alaina and Kellie-Ann of Rockland; her step-children, Melissa Smith of Waldoboro, Lee Smith of Nobleboro and Heath Smith of Rockland; her three brothers, Arthur Marriner, Jr. of Owls Head, David Marriner of Rockland and Brian King of Rockland.
She was blessed with 14 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren whom she loved dearly.
