Joseph Patricia, Jr., obituary
UNION — Joseph Patricia, Jr., 78, died unexpectedly at home with his loving family at his side.
Born in Newton, New Jersey, he was the son of Joseph, Sr. and Lillian Chammings Patricia.
After graduating from Stevens Institute of Technology, Joe spent most of his career as a civilian engineer, working on large boiler system projects for the US Army. Together with his wife, Jayne, Joe retired to Union where he enjoyed working outside at his Overlock Hill Road home. Gardening, operating his tractors and listening to the birds were some of his favorite pastimes.
He was a quiet and stoic man with a deep faith in God. He often referred to his favorite Bible Verse, Psalm 91. He will be sadly missed by all who loved him.
Predeceased by a sister, Jean Johnson; Joseph is survived by his beloved wife, Jayne Litts-Patricia of Union; his son, Joseph Patricia, III and his wife Nola of Australia; his step-children Craig Litts and his partner Roberto Tyrolia of New Jersey, Sherri Sicina and her husband Eddie of Union; his grandchildren, Maddison, Hannah and Lily; one great-grandchild, Elsie, all of Australia; his sisters, Loretta Auld, Karen Green and Connie Carpenter; a brother, Danny Patricia; an aunt, Marion Wilder of Texas; as well as several nieces and nephews.
In keeping with Joe’s wishes, his family will remember his life privately. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Union EMS, P.O. Box 186, Union, ME 04862.
