WISCASSET — John Matthew Salyers, much loved and adopted son of Paul A. Burke, Jr., passed quietly in his sleep on June 26, 2024 after a lengthy illness.

John, of Marblehead, Massachusetts, Wiscasset, Maine and Palm Beach, Florida, was born in Columbus, Ohio on March 25, 1989. He was lovingly raised by his maternal grandmother, Lena Morris, of Whitehall, Ohio with his siblings, JoAnn Amaro, Josh Salyers and Rachelle Smith.

John graduated from Whitehall-Yearly High School with top honors. During his time in high school, John was the President of the Key Club, Team Leader of Kiwanis Youth and organizer of many varied charity events. He went on to study at the Columbus College of Art + Design (CCAD) where his creative side truly flourished.

John went on to become an actor and model. He was a master barista at Starbucks in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida and San Francisco, California.

John was a lover of all animals, an avid gardener and plant collector.

He will be deeply missed by those that knew him.
