Islesboro Health Center holding first vaccine clinic Feb. 18
ISLESBORO — The Islesboro Health Center will host its first COVID-19 vaccination clinic Thursday, Feb. 18 for members of the community ages 70 and older, by appointment only.
Preregistration is required by clicking here or by picking up a paper copy of the registration from the town office’s porch and returning it the office’s drop box.
Once preregistration is completed, the health center’s staff will call to set up an appointment time.
When arriving at the clinic to receive the vaccine, wear a mask and a short sleeve shirt underneath warm layers to facilitate easy access to an upper arm.
The Health Center staff will ask you a few questions, vaccinate you, observe you for 15 minutes to assure no adverse reactions and give you a second dose appointment in four weeks’ time. The entire time spent at the clinic should be no more than 30 minutes.
The Health Center staff is working to secure more vaccination doses and hopes to run additional clinics for other islanders according to the Maine CDC vaccination phase guidelines in the near future.
If you have questions call the Health Center at 734-2213.
