Have you seen Pepper?
CAMDEN — The Berez family of Camden is looking for one of their pet cockatiels, Pepper, after she flew out the door to a tree in the yard.
Theo Berez said Pepper initially landed high in a tree Saturday. A call to a family friend with a cherry picker got someone close enough to Pepper to grab her off the branch, but she flew off as he got just inches away, said Berez.
"The kids could see her in another set of treest but the cherry picker couldn't get over to her," said Berez Sunday. "We put her cage out with food in it hoping she'll get hungry enough to fly down and eat."
So far, Pepper is still on the lam. She was last seen hanging around the Mountain Street, Trim Street and Megunticook Street area.
Berez said it's not the cold temperatures that will be a problem for Pepper, it's the impending rain. Not to mention the winds forecast to arrive in the Midcoast Monday.
If anyone sees Pepper, call 228-5029 or find Berez on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/theo.berez.
