Harry T. Lampman, Jr., obituary
ROCKLAND — Harry T. Lampman, 81, passed away July 12, 2023 in Rockland, Maine. He is survived by his wife Stephanie, stepdaughter Melissa, and grandson Arthur and his family of Mitchells and Wilsons. He is predeceased by his parents Elizabeth and Harry and his brother John.
Harry was born March 10, 1942 in Englewood, New Jersey and grew up in Closter. He graduated from Northern Valley High School in 1961 and worked in construction for a few years, before serving in the National Guard. After his military service, he began working for the Borough of Closter in the Streets and Road Department, eventually becoming Superintendent of the Department of Public Works. He held this position for many years before retiring.
Harry (also known to some as ‘Collar’) had a passion for cars and trucks and was the proud owner of many of them over the years. A devoted Elvis fan, he accumulated a considerable collection of memorabilia. Being avid
animal lovers, Harry and Stephanie were devoted parents to many ’Fur Babies’ over the years, dogs as well as cats.
After retiring, Harry and Stephanie moved to the hamlet of Delancey in New York State where they resided for a few years enjoying country life and all that it entailed before making their final move to Maine.
Harry was a kind, hardworking and generous man. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him, family, friends and neighbors alike.
Honoring his wishes, no services were held.
