Harriette L. Masalin, obituary
LINCOLNVILLE — Harriette Louise Masalin, 86, of Lincolnville, died on Saturday, August 20, 2022 at Woodland Memory Care in Rockland. Born in Portland on July 14, 1936, she was the daughter of Franklin and Emma (Warren) McFarland and attended Portland schools.
On February 9, 1955, Harriette married David Reino Masalin at the First Congregational Church in Camden. David and Harriette lived in Portland for many years before retiring and moving to Lincolnville in 1998.
In Portland, Harriette’s employment included Porteous Mitchell & Braun in Portland as a bookkeeper and several other businesses.
Harriette and David enjoyed metal detecting at former building sites in search of old coins and artifacts. Her most favorite find was a 1791 English penny.
Harriette was a very good cook and enjoyed going out to eat with family and friends.
Predeceased by her son Keith in 2021, a sister, Faith Ricci, and sister-in-law, Joan Ratliff; she is survived by her husband, David Masalin of Camden; two sons, Scott Masalin and his wife Kathy of Rye, New York, and Wayne Masalin of Casco; 6 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
A graveside service was held in the Maplewood Cemetery in Lincolnville. Condolences may be shared at www.longfuneralhomecamden.com.
