The Feminine Divine: Works by Mj Viano Crowe on display in Belfast
BELFAST — Mj Viano Crowe’s mixed media paintings and complex paper-cuts will be displayed in the Kramer Gallery of the Belfast Free Library, October 1 - 31, in the exhibit entitled, “The Feminine Divine.”
Belfast artist, Viano Crowe explores the representations of the female experience with the goddesses; they appear cloistered within their own private universes, seldom revealing more than subtle hints about their actual inner selves. Often orbiting the background, a complex planetary arrangement of fanciful ephemera from birds to insects, to flora and fauna, visually suggest an extension of the central figures’ intricate, emotional world, according to the Library, in a news release.
The Kramer Gallery, located on the ground floor of the library, is open during library hours. For more information visit belfastlibrary.org.
