Born in Camden, May 4, 1948, he was the son of Dwinal D. Sr. and Clara E Fuller Tripp. Growing up Dwinal worked at a young age on a local farm and was then drafted into the U.S. Army, where he would tell you that his knack for getting into trouble made him the best potato peeler they ever had. After being honorably discharged, he went on to work as a weaver at the Knox Woolen Mill in Camden.
He married Joy E. Meservey in August 1972 and they made their home in Union, where they raised their two children, Matthew and Marie. They were married 23 years until Joy’s passing in 1995.
After leaving the Knox Mill, Dwinal went on to do a garbage route with his close friend, Wild Bill Hastings. The two did this for years until Bill’s passing at which time Dwinal took it over himself and was still doing so right up until his death.
Other than his parents, Dwinal was predeceased by his wife, Joy, and an infant son.
He is survived by his daughter, Marie Tripp of Union; his son Matthew Tripp and his wife Lacey of Waldoboro; his grandchildren, Nichelle Tripp and Brenden Tripp; his siblings, Peggy Ludwig and her husband Alex, Dottie Holbrook and her husband Fred, Billy Tripp; his longtime partner Dale Martz (The Nag), her son Edwin and his wife Sue, their children, Anna, Dylan and Jillian, Dale’s daughter Channy and her children, Quentin and William, as well as many nieces and nephews along with the many family members from Joys family, whom he was still very close with. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
