Colleen A. (Cook) Oxton, obituary
BELFAST — Colleen Ann (Cook) Oxton went peacefully to be with her Lord and Savior on August 10, 2025 following a long illness. She was born on November 11, 1956 to Paul R. Cook, Sr., and Shirley Dumont Cook in Belfast, Maine.
Colleen grew up on the farm in Waldo and graduated from Mt. View High School. She enjoyed riding horses on the farm. She was very active in the 4-H Club. After she married the love of her life, David A. Oxton, she raised and trained pet German Shepard dogs, which she walked long distances daily. She especially loved her last pet German Shepard, Koby.
Colleen made and shared the best chocolate chip cookies. Everyone wanted her recipe, which she revealed in her final days. Colleen enjoyed cooking and shared many delicious creations over the years, especially during the holidays.
Colleen is survived by her loving husband of 27 years, David A. Oxton; daughter, Cassandra Ann (Oxton) Anderson, and husband Bobby Anderson; brother Paul R. Cook, Jr, and wife Jeannethe Cook, and their daughter, Brittany E. (Cook) McDaniel and husband Emanual McDaniel, and their son, Xavier M. McDaniel.
She was predeceased by her parents, Maternal Uncle Malon Dumont, and mother-in-law, Gari P. Oxton.
She is also survived by in-laws Debora Riley and husband Walter Frank Riley, Jr., Susan Wood, Richard Oxton, Jr., and wife Delores.
She’s also survived by several special cousins, nieces, and nephews and dear friends.
A Celebration of Life will take place in October 2025.
