Allen P. Holmes, obituary
ROCKLAND — Allen P. Holmes, beloved father, friend, and champion, passed away on August 5, 2025 after a courageous battle with Parkinson’s disease.
Allen was born on April 18, 1963, in Framingham, Massachusetts. He and his mother moved to Maine during his childhood where his deep family roots were planted but Allen always felt tremendous pride towards his Sicilian heritage. Growing up, he enjoyed playing football and showcased his passion, determination, knowledge, and dedication through schooling at Brewer High School.
He was a proud graduate of Husson University, where he earned his bachelor’s degree in accounting and formed lifelong bonds as a member of the MEX fraternity. His years at Husson shaped not only his career, but also many of the friendships and values that defined him.
Allen was known for his strength—not only in the gym but also in character. A dedicated CPA by profession, he was the co-founder and driving force behind Holmes & Hill CPAs, where he built a reputation for integrity, precision, and unwavering dedication to his clients. Outside of the office, Allen was a passionate and accomplished bodybuilder. Among his many earned titles were Mr. Maine and Mr. New England, achievements that reflected his incredible discipline, perseverance, and unmatched drive.
But of all his accomplishments, Allen’s greatest pride and joy was being a father. He raised his daughter Kingsley and put every ounce of love and support into their relationship. He was not only the best parent anyone could have ever asked for, but he was also her comedian, adventure buddy, karaoke legend, favorite dance partner, and hero. They shared the same passions, taste in music, humor, intelligence, dance moves, mental toughness, work ethic, and good morals that any child would be lucky to have gotten from a parent. Allen had a huge heart and would treat every one of Kingsley’s friends as his own. He never batted an eye about taking her friends with them on any adventure, concert, appointment, or gym session while blasting the music during every ride.
His love, support, and unwavering presence shaped the lives of those closest to him. He led by example—with strength, kindness, and wisdom—and his impact will be felt for generations.
To those who knew him, Allen was so much more than his titles. His friendships were deep and lasting, rooted in loyalty, humor, and a genuine care for others. Allen’s bright radiating smile that he continually shared, until his last days, will forever be in the hearts and minds of all who loved him.
Allen is predeceased by his mother, Patricia Hill; his father, John F. Costanza; his step-father, Gerald Hill; and his sister, Wendy Costanza.
He is survived by his daughter Kingsley Holmes and her fiancé Corey Robinson; his partner and dedicated caregiver, Margaret Corriveau; his daughter Ashley Holmes; his step-sons, Justin Foster and Drew Davis; and his brothe John Costanza.
Visiting hours will be open to the public on Friday, August 29, from 5 to 7 p.m., at Burpee, Carpenter & Hutchins Funeral Home, 110 Limerock Street, Rockland.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in memory of Allen P. Holmes to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research, P.O. Box 5014 Hagerstown, MD 21741.
Allen’s legacy lives on in the many lives he touched with his integrity, determination, and heart. He will be remembered always with love and admiration.
