Chuck Kruger elected president of Maine Lobster Festival board of directors
ROCKLAND — The Rockland Festival Corporation Friday announced elections of a new president and vice-president of the group that produces the annual Maine Lobster Festival.
Thomaston resident Chuck Kruger was elected president for 2014, replacing Tim Carroll, of Owls Head, who has served as president for the past five years.
"Tim has been a terrific president," said long-time Festival director Bob Oxton of Camden. "His dedication and steady hand in leadership have been very important to the continued success of our festival."
In addition to Kruger, John Jeffers of Rockland was elected vice-president and Katie Chilles and Laurie Smith, both also of Rockland, were re-elected to serve as treasurer and secretary, respectively, of the volunteer board of directors.
Also in the press release it was announced that four new individuals joined the board during the group's annual meeting Oct. 29, including Amy Shepard Pease and Brandy Perkins of Rockland, Bob Bird of Thomaston and Peter Beal of Rockport. Pease, Perkins, Bird and Beal have all been involved with the Festival in previous years.
The 67th annual Maine Lobster Festival is set for July 30-Aug. 3, 2014, on the waterfront at Harbor Park in Rockland. For more information, visit mainelobsterfestival.com.
