Charles Edward Gilmore, 75, of Searsport, completed his journey on this earth on February 8, 2023.  His time began on April 16, 1947, the son of Alton and Gladys (Dunbar) Gilmore. 

He was a man of pride and passion for his country, family, and life. 

After being a part of the first class to graduate from BAHS in 1966, he was called upon by Uncle Sam to serve his country in Vietnam.  

Following an honorable discharge in 1969, Charlie returned home to meet his future wife Gail. They were married on March 28, 1970.

He became a very beloved member of the Lanphier family and 'son' to in-laws Stanley and Virginia.

In their 37 years together, Charles became a father to two daughters, Lisa and Tanya, and proud Papa to grandchildren, Joscelynne (Joshua) and Joanna.

He was predeceased by his wife Gail in 2008 but reunited a few years later with a childhood friend, Annette Howard, who was also adopted by his daughters and grandchildren as an honorary mother and grandmother.

His memory resides within the minds of all who knew him and his spirit thrives on the other side.
