Camden’s Christmas By the Sea organizers forge ahead with unique approach to popular weekend
A much loved holiday tradition is forging ahead to bring good tidings to the Camden area during the first weekend in December, as the Camden Area Business Group presents Christmas By the Sea.
The 34th annual Christmas By the Sea weekend, scheduled for December 4-6, 2020, will include a unique holiday parade, tree-lightings, downtown holiday music, visits with Santa Claus from the North Pole, a virtual story time, a family scavenger hunt, and other fun surprises.
All events associated with Christmas By the Sea 2020 will be presented in accordance with COVID safety guidelines. Time-honored events, such as the parade and tree lighting in downtown Camden, will feature modified formats. The parade will be set up in a “reverse” format in which the floats and other displays will remain stationary and the spectators will drive past in their own cars. Those wishing to participate in the Christmas By the Sea parade should contact Holly Anderson at handerson@camdensnowbowl.com to receive a participation form.
Christmas By the Sea attendees can also expect a few new experiences, such as a family scavenger hunt, designed to be completed at leisure over the weekend. Specific details on all events will be shared in the coming weeks.
The Christmas By the Sea committee invites businesses and organizations in the towns of Camden, Rockport, Hope and Lincolnville to join in the festivities by planning and staging holiday events that comply with State of Maine CDC guidelines. To have your event considered for inclusion in Christmas By the Sea promotions, please email event particulars to christmasbythesea@camdenmaineexperience.com by November 10, 2020.
