Camden Rotary announces 2016 Grant winners
CAMDEN — The Camden Rotary Club congratulates the winners of their 2016 charitable grant awards. Forty-two deserving nonprofit organizations serving Knox County and Lincolnville competed for the funds and the final decisions were determined by a vote of the entire club.
"There are many great organizations out there," Richard Householder, chair of the Camden Rotary Grant Committee said, "and we try to give as much as we can to as many as we can. Next year we hope we will hear again from those who applied this year."
The Large Charitable Grants Winners are; $10,000 for the MCH-Meals on Wheels Kitchen Capital Campaign and $5,000 for the Chestnut Street Baptist Church Steeple Restoration.
The $1000 Grant Winners are; Coastal Family Hospice Volunteers; Midcoast Recreation Center STEP Program; Knox County Homeless Coalition; Camden/Rockport Historic Society Conway House Repairs; Knox Clinic Access to Quality Care; Vose Library Home Delivery; and the Camden Public Library Tech Tuesday Program. The Youth Oriented Program Grant Winner of $5000 went to Big Brothers, Big Sisters of Mid-Maine 1-to-1 Mentoring.
