Camden Hills Regional outlines year-end plans for seniors
ROCKPORT — The administration at Camden Hills Regional High School has outlined end-of-year plans for its Class of 2020 seniors.
The slate of year-end festivities kicked off May 11 with the commencement of senior countdown with seniors being recognized on social media and the Mt. Battie star being lit with red and white light bulbs to recognize the seniors.
The final day of classes for seniors will be May 29.
A virtual fine arts night will be held June 4 at 5 p.m., with links posted on schoology and the high school’s website.
Seniors will drop off books and iPads at the high school gymnasium June 4 and June 5, in assigned groups. Seniors will receive their graduation box, including their cap and gown, at that time. Masks will be required and social distancing guidelines are to be observed.
June 8 will be senior memories day. Senior photos will be posted on the track fence, members of the community are encouraged to leave messages for those graduating.
A virtual yearbook signing will be held June 8; more information will be posted on schoology for students.
The senior diploma presentation will be held June 8 and June 9, in groups, in the Strom Auditorium. This event is optional, and is only open to seniors and immediate family members. Seniors and their parents will meet on the stage and the parents will present the student’s diploma to them. The ceremony will be recorded and be part of the graduation presentation June 12.
A virtual senior voices event will be held June 9 at 6 p.m. with a senior slideshow and parent-student speeches. Links and a program will be posted to schoology and the high school’s website, and will be available on-demand following the livestream.
A virtual awards night will be held June 11, at 6 p.m., where seniors will be presented with scholarships and awards. Graduation will be held June 12, virtually at 4 p.m. The event will be available on-demand after the livestream and links will be posted to schoology and the high school’s website.
The senior parade will be held June 12 at 7 p.m. Seniors will convene at the Knox Mill parking lot in Camden in their vehicles at 6:30 p.m. The parade will be led by local police and will proceed through Camden and Rockport and will end at the intersection of Route 1 and Route 90 in Rockport. Partcipants and spectators must remain in their vehicles.
