WALDOBORO -- The Bikes for Books program is underway at the Waldoboro Public Library, and new readers are welcome to join in.

For every five picture books or two chapter books read, the reader gets a raffle ticket toward winning a new bike. There are six prize bikes: three boy and three girl styles, in sizes 16", 20", and 24", and all bikes come with helmets. The drawing will be Aug. 16. The more one reads, the better the chances of winning.

This program is sponsored by the King Solomon's Lodge of Masons of Waldoboro, with the bikes donated by the Downeast School of Massage, the Waldoboro Sno-Crawlers Club, Hillside Auto Body, and Lou Abbotoni, CPA.
