AIO Food, Energy Assistance welcomes new Board members
ROCKLAND — Anne Wunderli, Charly Haversat and Nina Durgin have joined the Board of Directors of AIO Food and Energy Assistance.
“As AIO expands its client services in the community, our Board serves as our guiding light, maintaining our mission to provide food and energy assistance to anyone in Knox County who needs our help,” said AIO, in a news release.
Anne Wunderli returns to the AIO Board and brings extensive non-profit management experience. She was most recently vice-president for operations at Pine Street Inn in Boston, where she provided leadership and aligned strategic direction and planning for PSI’s 24/7 operational services. Wunderli has previously served on the boards of the national Social Enterprise Alliance and Mama Dragons. In Maine, she served as chair of the executive committee for Community Partnerships for Protecting Children. Wunderli is a life-long member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, where she serves as president of the Relief Society, a philanthropic and educational women’s organization.
Currently she and her husband work with RSU13 special education students. Wunderli and her husband live in Rockland.
Charly Haversat joins the AIO board after moving to the Midcoast from a career in financial services based in Portland, Boston and New York. She is currently the Operations Director at Bella Luna Toys based in Rockland. Haversat has served on the board of the Sexual Assault Response Center of Southern Maine (SARSSM) and Spring Harbor Hospital in Portland.
She’s also done volunteer work with YearUp in Boston and the Greater Boston Food Bank.
She and her husband live in Cushing.
Nina Durgin brings a wealth of volunteer experience to the AIO board. She’s a Deaconess at the Rockland Congregational Church, where she started a prayer shawl ministry. Durgin was a co-founder of the Penobscot Bay Ministries, which provides car and services to prisoners after their release. She volunteers at Kairos International Prison Ministry, which provides services for Warren State prisoner retreats. She also helped co-found Kairos for Women – offering weekend retreats for relatives of current or former prisoners.
Durgin lives in Thomaston.
AIO Food and Energy Assistance is located in the Rockland Industrial Park and serves anyone in Knox County. The Food Assistance program supports 400 households with food each month, and is available through a safe and efficient Drive-Through Service Monday, Wednesday and Friday 10 a.m. - 12 p.m.; and Wednesday evening, from 4:30 -6:30 p.m. Everyone is welcome.
Over 250 Weekend Meal kits are provided each week to kids across Knox County; families can sign up through your school.
