The application window for the 2025 WinterKids Winter Games is now open. As Maine’s only nonprofit dedicated to increasing outdoor physical activity for children during winter, WinterKids invites schools across the state to participate in this fun, educational, and active challenge.

The Winter Games will run from January 13 to February 7, 2025, and 16 schools will be selected to join in on the action.

"This is a unique opportunity for your school community to encourage students in grades Pre-K through 8 to embrace the outdoors, build teamwork, and celebrate being outside during Maine’s BEST season," said WinterKids, in a news release.

Highlights:

·       4-week competition with exciting, school-wide outdoor challenges

·       This year’s theme: “Weather”—inspiring creative outdoor learning

·       A free Winter Games toolkit for participating schools, including PLAYBooks and incentives

·       Over $20,000 in cash and prizes, with the top school receiving $5,000

"We hear every year from teachers how much their students love the Winter Games, and how it transforms the winter season into a vibrant time of activity and learning," said WinterKids.

The application deadline is October 20, 2024. Schools can apply now by visiting WinterKids.org.
