Upcoming Choral Festival to be held in Belfast
BELFAST — The First Church in Belfast is hosting a Choral Festival: Songs of Peace for Our Times, to be held Sept. 29 through Oct. 1.
The festival will be led by Dr. Ronald Sherwin, Music Dept. chair at the University of Massachusetts-Dartmouth and Dr. Sarah H. McQuarrie, associate professor of music education and graduate coordinator at Bridgewater State University in Bridgewater, Mass. Together, they will bring vibrant energy and a scholarly approach, creating a fun and inspiring atmosphere for singers and audiences alike.
The festival is open to individual singers as well as area church, high school and community choirs interested in blending their voices to bring a message of peace and compassion for our times. Practice sessions on Sept. 29 and 30 will lead to a concert at the First Church on the afternoon of Sunday, Oct. 1.
