Vose to Home: Free book delivery service for shut-ins
UNION — Starting April 14, Union's Vose Library will offer a free book delivery service to town residents who hold a Vose Library patron card and are unable to visit the library in person because of lack of mobility, lack of access to a vehicle, visual impairment, or because of a short-term disability such as late or post-term pregnancy or recovery from surgery, injury or illness. Applications are being accepted now. To sign up, applicants may call Vose Library at 785-4733 during open hours, register online, or pick up a brochure at the library.
Deliveries of new items and pickups of returned items will be on a 2-week schedule on Thursdays, between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m., starting April 14. Vose to Home patrons may borrow a maximum of 10 items at a time, including up to two each of audio books (on CD), movies (on DVD), and magazines. Patrons may choose books and other materials starting April 1, by selecting items online, phoning in requests to the library, or asking a library volunteer to make a selection based on your preferences as shown on the application form. Vose Library is excited to offer this new service to residents, thanks to a group of dedicated volunteer desk staff and drivers. For more information, call Vose Library at 785-4733.
