Waldoboro Day is coming
WALDOBORO — This year, on June 18, the celebration for Waldoboro Day will take place, primarily at the ball fields beyond Miller School. This change in venue is going require the community to make a number of important decisions. You are all invited to the first meeting of the Waldoboro Day Committee on Thursday, March 31 at 6 p.m. in the town office.
In addition, to the selection of a Grand Marshal and a theme for the day's festivities, some of the issues that need to be decided are whether to change the parade route and where to begin the 5K race. Other choices have to be made about which organizations will manage the dunk tank, bounce house, photo booth, obstacle course, face painting, pet parade and additional kid's games. How many professional food vendors should be invited and how many organizations will offer food as a fundraiser? Will there still be a dog walk at A.D. Gray School? Should businesses have tables like they used to at the Business
Showcase? Should there be live music all day? Should there be a large tent with seating and where should it be located?
Please plan to attend this meeting if you have any thoughts, opinions or advice to share with this committee. You are also encouraged to join the committee, which will not obligate you to do any more than give your input. If you can't attend, but want to share your ideas, please contact Caren Clark at, cbcon3@roadrunner.com or 832-0633.
