Know your iPhone workshop January 29
ROCKLAND — The best camera for taking photos is the one that you always have with you. Lurking inside your iPhone is one of the most inspiring, capable, and fun imaging systems in all of photography. More than just a snapshot device, your iPhone is a powerful creative tool for making art, right in the palm of your hand.
You now have both camera and darkroom in your pocket. Photographing with a mobile device adds a level of convenience, flexibility, and spontaneity to the photographic process. This 4-hour workshop will provide a solid introduction to using the iPhone as a creative tool for editing photos. You will also learn some iPhone housekeeping tricks, especially in settings. A list of apps will be provided to participants so that they may be downloaded in time for the first class.
Roberta Baumann, Georges River Land Trust's Administrative Assistant, leads this informative workshop — a kickoff to Georges River Land Trust's 2016 slate of Revelry for the River events. Baumann is a fine art photographer and co-owner of the Landing Gallery in Rockland. She fuels her creative spirit by exploring the process of capturing and editing photos with her iPhone. Roberta has taught iPhone photography at the Maine Media Workshops, River Arts in Damariscotta, 26 Split Rock Cove in South Thomaston, and in private classes. In 2015 she exhibited in eight juried art shows. Her work is collected in the U.S. and in Europe.
This is your opportunity to discover the power, fun, and stunning output that's possible from your iPhone! Workshop will be held Friday, Jan. 29, at Georges River Land Trust, 8 N.
