Sisters Iza and Dora are still looking for a foster home
ROCKPORT — Sweet sisters Iza and Dora are still looking for a foster home. After being with us for almost three months, they are getting more and more used to their kennel, which in their case is definitely not a good thing. We want these sisters to be outside in the real world, and we know they will make wonderful pets for the right person. Might that person be you?
So what are the girls looking for? A home with a fenced-in yard would be best. We have learned that they like to chase chickens and tease cats, so a cat-free home would be best. And if you have chickens, they should be far away from those ladies!
Iza and Dora (do you get the names? It took us an awfully long time) have just returned from a short-term foster, and though this family could not keep them for long, we all learned a lot about the girls. They did very well inside the home and enjoyed being around people. When the foster mom was working in the yard, they liked to be around her, and they would wait patiently for her at the door. They were even fine with riding in the car.
If you're interested in fostering these dogs, please come talk to us so we can tell you more about them and how you can help us. We do know Dora and Iza love each other, so a foster that wants to take them both would be great, but we also think they would do fine without each other. Maybe you already have a dog who could teach them a little bit more about how it is to live in a home. They're quick learners.
Can we be on your shopping list this week?
We have a lot of hungry mouths to feed here every day, and we are running out of canned wet food for cats. For some of our felines, the wet food is just a yummie treat in addition to the dry food they have access to all day, but some of our cats really depend on it. A few of our older cats are missing some or almost all of their teeth, and for other cats the canned wet food is just easier to digest. Can you help us make sure not one of the kitties at PAWS goes hungry? We gladly accept any brand and any amount you can bring us.
With new kittens coming in almost every week now, we are also in need of kitten food. Small bags, big bags — everything will do to keep those little mouths fed. And since we are on it anyway and to stay in the food talk, we are completely out of Kitten Milk Replacement. When a momma cat does not want to nurse her babies or the kittens come in without a mom and are too young to eat, we bottle feed them with KMR to help them grow strong and healthy. KMR is available at most grocery or superstores.
