Waldo County Sheriff’s beat: traffic violations, theft, burglary
BELFAST — The Waldo County Sheriff's Office reported the following activity June 5-16. An arrest or summons does not imply guilt.
June 3 (late entry)
Chad Walters, 20, of Belmont, was issued a summons for speeding 79 mph in a 45 mph zone on Belfast Road in Lincolnville.
June 5
Brandon Ricker, 36, of Jackson, was arrested for unpaid fines.
June 6
Andrew Ashland, 27, of Brooks, was arrested for violating a protective order and violating conditions of release.
June 7
Lyle Littlefield, 28, of Swanville, was issued summonses for two charges of forgery and two charges of theft by deception, stemming from an incident Feb. 8.
Heather J. Saufler, 42, of Jackson, was issued a summons for operating under the influence on North Searsport Road in Swanville.
June 8
Jason Batista, 21, of China, was issued a summons for operating after suspension on Monroe Highway in Brooks.
William Slaughter, 24, of Unity, was arrested for operating under the influence on Dixmont Road in Monroe.
Laura L. Freeman, 43, of Unity, was issued summonses for failure to provide proof of insurance and operating after suspension on Route 137 in Unity.
June 9
Stephen D. Wright, 45, of Newburgh, was issued summonses for burglary and criminal trespass in Monroe.
Robert W. Wright, 54, of Winterport, was issued summonses for burglary, criminal trespass in Monroe and violating conditions of release.
Deputy Jordan Tozier responded to the scene of a two-vehicle accident on Route 1 in Northport where the operator reportedly fell asleep behind the wheel, crossing the center line and striking an oncoming vehicle. Two other motorists allegedly told Tozier that the vehicle had nearly collided with their respective vehicles, but they had managed to "maneuver out of the way." Another driver was not as lucky, though they were able to avoid a direct collision by moving their vehicle onto the shoulder, according to an accident report. The driver of the second vehicle reported a possible injury and the vehicle was towed.
John D. Bill, 71, of Santa Monica, Calif., was issued a summons for failure to maintain control of a motor vehicle on Route 1 in Northport.
Gregory H. Perkins, 24, of Bangor, was issued a summons for an inspection sticker violation.
June 10
Meuriella A. Hall, 32, of Winterport, was issued summons for operating after suspension on Swan Lake Avenue in Swanville.
Meg M. Jackson, 50, of Swanville, was issued summonses for an inspection sticker violation and failure to provide proof of insurance.
June 11
A Winterport minor was issued summonses for carrying passengers on an intermediate license and operating between 12 a.m. and 5 a.m. on an intermediate license.
Jacques D. Redmond, 45, of Newport, was issued a summons for speeding 49 mph in a 25 mph zone on Route 1A.
June 12
Deputy Jonathan Shaw responded to a single vehicle accident on Curtis Road in Swanville where the operator failed to make a turn, instead striking a guardrail. The operator stated they were unfamiliar with the area and did not know the curve was there. The operator, Gloria Pressey, 31, of Fairfield, was issued a summons for leaving the scene of a motor vehicle accident. No injuries were reported.
Kevin Grass, 44, of Belfast, was arrested for unpaid fines.
Joshua Gray, 24, of Swanville, was arrested for unpaid fines.
June 14
Bryan T. Grover, 42, of Winterport, was arrested for operating under the influence on Airport Road in Winterport.
Latisha L. Cook, 19, of Belmont, was arrested for reckless conduct with a dangerous weapon and aggravated criminal trespass.
