Belfast Police Department beat: crashes
BELFAST — The Belfast Police Department reported the following activity Jan. 24-31. An arrest or summons does not imply guilt.
Jan. 24
Officer Michael Rolerson responded to the scene of a two vehicle accident on Lincolnville Avenue where the operator failed to yield to the right-of-way, rear-ending the car ahead of it. The driver reportedly told Officer Rolerson she was changing a CD when the accident occurred. Her car was towed and she reported a possible injury. The other driver reported no injuries and their vehicle received minor damage.
Jan. 25
Officer Wendall Ward responded to the scene two-vehicle accident on Waterville Road where the operator of one vehicle slid on icy roads, resulting in the vehicle sliding into the opposite lane, striking the side of an oncoming car. Both vehicles were towed. There were no injuries.
Jan. 26
Officer Thomas Ballard responded to the scene of a two-vehicle accident on Lincolnville Avenue where one driver, who was slowing to turn right into the YMCA slid on icy roads, striking a stationary vehicle waiting to turn left from the YMCA. The vehicles received minor damage. There were no injuries.
Jan. 27
Officer Wendall Ward responded to a single-vehicle accident on Ryan Road where the operator slid off the road in slippery conditions, striking a fire hydrant. The vehicle was towed. There were no injuries.
Jan. 29
Jean E. Tempesta, 51, of Searsport, was issued summonses for failure to provide proof of insurance and failure to register a motor vehicle.
Jan. 30
Michael C. Scott, 32, of Belfast, was issued a summons for operating an unregistered vehicle (150+ days).
