Ruth Brenneck, obituary
SOUTH THOMASTON — Ruth Brenneck, 92, died peacefully Sept. 15, 2013, at Pen Bay Medical Center in Rockport.
Born in West Orange, N.J., Dec. 19, 1920, she was the daughter of James and Catherine Ilg O'Connor. She attended school in New Jersey and taught for the Newark Archdiocese school system.
She was a communicant of St. Bernard's Church, where she was active in the School of Religion, and served as a eucharist minister. Ruth also spent her time as a pastoral visitor/volunteer at Pen Bay Medical Center.
Her hobbies included reading, walking, gardening and crafts.
She is survived by her children, Suzanne, Popek, Robert Brenneck and John Brenneck and their spouses; and three grandchildren.
Visitation was held Sept. 19, at Burpee, Carpenter & Hutchins Funeral Home in Rockland. A Mass of Christian Burial was held Sept. 20, at St. Bernard's Catholic Church in Rockland. Private interment will be held at a later date.
