Stream thousands of films for free with Rockport Library card
The Rockport Public Library is now offering a new benefit to library cardholders: access to the online streaming platform Kanopy.
“Because of the extraordinary fundraising efforts of the Friends of the Rockport Public Library,” says Rockport Library Director Ben Blackmon, in a news release, “our cardholders are now able to watch over 30,000 critically acclaimed films, documentaries, and series for free on their smart TVs, tablets, computers or phones with the Kanopy app.”
In addition to programming for adults, Kanopy also offers unlimited streaming of a carefully curated collection of high quality children’s shows that support early literacy, STEM education, and even foreign language learning, according to the release.
The library is able to offer this new benefit because of money raised by the Friends at book sales and their annual 5K race.
“We wish to express our sincere thanks to the Friends for their dedicated volunteer work and to our community for enthusiastically supporting these fundraising events,” says Blackmon.
