SPRUCE HEAD — The Craignair Gallery invites the public to the Opening Reception of “In the Forest” on Wednesday, Jan. 10, from 4 to 7 p.m.

This invitational exhibition features the paintings of Maine artists Susan Lewis Baines, Nancy Baker, Katharine Cartwright, Jean Kigel and Gwen Sylvester.

Live music by pianist Beverly Pacheco and complimentary refreshments prepared by Chef Gil Plaster enhance the opening event.

Cartwright, the exhibition’s curator, explains in a news release, that “for decades, each artist has demonstrated mastery of her artistic interpretation of the flora and fauna of Maine forests where she has intimate experience. This is why each of them was selected for this unique exhibition.”

“In the Forest” is on exhibit until February 27.
