Waldo County man severs leg in farming accident, is life-flighted for treatment
TROY - A man has been Life-flighted for treatment after suffering a fully severed leg due to a farming accident, according to a press release from Waldo County Sheriff’s Department Lieutenant Cody Laite.
“On December 5, 2023, at approximately 10:35 am, members of the Waldo County Sheriff’s Office responded to 763 Bangor Road in Troy to assist Unity Ambulance and Troy Fire Department with a medical call. Personnel arrived and provided emergency care to an adult male patient who sustained a fully severed leg. The male patient was transferred to Life Flight’s aircrew where he was flown for additional medical treatment. The circumstances surrounding this incident are not suspicious in nature,” the report states.
The incident occurred while the man was working on a farm in Troy, according to Lt. Laite.
